In short, we bought a house. Our very first house. My husband Theo and I have had the keys for just about 6 weeks (wow, it doesn’t feel like it’s been that long!) and been moved in for almost a month . This post is a photo tour of our new space before we moved in; AKA: lots of pictures of empty rooms. I hope you stop back soon to see the inspiration for all of the spaces to come. We’re excited, and I hope you are too!
Without further adieu, our new home (before any beautiful makeovers by yours truly) ;).
We have solar panels!!
Totally fenced (safer for Teddy) and huge! Oh yeah…and we have a Guest House. I promise that’s not as fancy as it sounds– we have a detached mother-in-law suite that has drywall and electrical but no working plumbing. At this point it is a long-term project because it needs a lot of love.
The “Guest House” has its own shed attached behind it but we also have a small tool shed! He too needs a lot of love.
Coming in through the Front Door is the Living Room that looks into the Kitchen. Rockin’ that wood-look vinyl. Ignore my cleaning supplies all over the Island, I was trying to get things fresh before we moved in!
Going down the hall,
the first door on the left is the Guest Bathroom.
The second door on the left is Theo’s Office/ Game Room.
Across the hall is the Guest Bedroom,
and on the right is my Craft Room with its ton of storage area!
Going back towards the Kitchen (and exiting the hall) you’ll see out the back window over the sink area.
From the back door you can see the range and view the seating-side of the island.
And from the other corner you get another view of the island and a better view out to the Front Yard. Check out all of the peel and stick tile..we’ve got a cool project to come for that ;).
From that same corner, behind you are the pantry cabinets and to your left are the Master Bedroom door and access to the Garage.
But before we leave this area, here is a whole view of the Kitchen.
To your left from here is the Master Bedroom
with a window nook between the his-and-hers closets.
A view of His Closet..
and a view of Hers.
On the other side of the Master Suite is access to the Master Bathroom through a pocket door.
The bathroom was designed to be fully handicap accessible and has a no-threshold roll-in shower.
The other side of the bathroom has space for the washer and dryer
That door goes out to the back patio, so at this point you’ve seen it all!
As previously mentioned, this is BEFORE we ever moved in so there are tons of beautiful and dramatic changes to come.
Up next I’ll give you an up close and personal look at some of the not-so-lovely details we bought the house with, but don’t worry they won’t be around for long!
